On May 1, Cumberland Region Tomorrow joined with the other organizations, that make up Connect Mid-TN, to make the case for a better funded transit system from our region.
During the press conference - which took place five years to the day that the referendum on transit failed - speakers discussed the connection between the cost of living and transportation options, the fact the Nashville is far behind its peer cities in supporting transit, the need for regional solutions, and the importance of the upcoming mayoral elections.
Robbie Hayes, CRT Board Chair, was joined by representative from The Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee, Walk Bike Nashville, Civic Design Center, Greater Nashville Realtors, Moving Forward, TN Disability Coalition, the Urban League of Middle Tennessee, Young Professionals in Transportation, and Transit Now.
Connect Mid-TN has asked all of Nashville's mayoral candidates to fill out a survey about transit. See the responses. Connect Mid-TN brings together groups dedicated to providing better transportation solutions in the region.
